A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.
An attitude I think many of America’s plutocrats and patricians of the late 19th, early 20th centuries had in spades, but is now missing. (Think Carnegie libraries, Olmsted parks, TR’s National Park System, and all the other great things from this era. Now compare what was made for the public in the past 30 years).
Inspirational and awesome. Thanks for sharing.
